Birthday Ball memory
This from Meryl:
One time there was a birthday ball or a color war team that started singing their alma mater and it just became a blurred hum – it was obvious that the team didn’t know the song. Then the captains had the team sing:
Hello, Mada. Hello, Fada
We forgot our
Alma Mater.
Spring birthday ball memories
“You’ve got to have spring” to the tune of Bette Midler’s “You’ve got to have friends.”
Pesach Parade (if anyone can come up with those lyrics, that’d be fun…it wasn’t my team–I was sometimes Winter, sometimes Spring–but it was memorable).
Something was done to West Side Story, teasing CIT Maria (Virginia is for Lovers T-shirt) and whoever it was she was dating, starred Meryl.
Winter, spring, summer and fall….Spring is the best of all (to You’ve Got a Friend).
I honestly don’t remember birthday ball songs too well, just little snippets.
There was something that got people in trouble, that might have had a line that was a little too irreverant. Does anyone remember? It might have been about Lenny. From ‘69, there was a song to “I am reviewing the situation” from Oliver. I can just remember a few words, it was about raids: Can I make it past Alan, [], and Stu. Can I make it, past the boys (girls?) row, is it worth the risk to face the paddle too. Something something, the flashlights they will shine on me… I think I’d better think it out again.
